Nicholas Palmer

Director of Bands

Nick Palmer graduated from Lakota West High School in 2001. Upon graduation, he earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education in 2005. While at U.D., Nick studied saxophone with Willie Morris III and was a member of several ensembles including the Dayton Jazz Ensemble, Symphonic Wind Ensemble, The Pride of Dayton Marching Band, First Flight Saxophone Quartet and the Flyer Pep Band. 

As Director of Bands for Springboro, Nick Palmer oversees all aspects of the program including directing the Springboro High School Marching Band. Other duties include directing the Springboro Junior High Seventh and Eighth Grade Bands, the Springboro High School Wind Ensemble, the Springboro High School Jazz Ensemble, and Pep Band.

Ensembles under Mr. Palmer’s direction have received consistent Superior ratings at OMEA Large Group Adjudicated Event and OMEA Marching Band State Finals. This past marching band season, Mr. Palmer helped lead the Springboro High School Marching Band to its 23rd consecutive superior rating at state finals.

Mr. Palmer is a member of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, Music Educator’s National Conference, and The Ohio Music Education Association.


Connor Reidy

Assistant Director of Bands

Connor Reidy is the Assistant Band Director in the Springboro Schools. 

Mr. Reidy teaches sixth grade beginning band at Springboro Intermediate School. At Springboro High School, Mr. Reidy conducts the concert band, assists with the wind ensemble, teaches music technology, the history of rock and roll, and is the assistant marching band director. 

Mr. Reidy attended the University of Dayton where he received his Bachelor of Music in Music Education. While at UD, he was a member of the University of Dayton Symphonic Wind Ensemble, University Chorale, Pride of Dayton Marching Band, Five River Winds woodwind quintet, Early Music Ensemble, World Music Choir, University Orchestra, clarinet choir, and studied clarinet under Dr. Wallis Vore and Dr. Andrea Vos-Rochefort. 


Samantha Wilson

Color Guard Director

Sam Wilson’s colorguard journey began when she was only ten years old as a member of the Springboro Elementary Winterguard. She is a 2013 graduate of SHS and proud alumni of the band and colorguard programs.

After high school, Sam performed five consecutive seasons with Juxtaposition Winterguard based out of Westerville, Ohio, winning WGI Independent Open Class gold in 2016 and performing at WGI World Championship finals a number of times.

Miss Wilson holds a bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education with a focus on English Language Arts and a minor in English Literature from the University of Cincinnati as well as a Master’s of Educational Leadership from the University of Dayton.
