The Springboro High School Marching Band is the one of the largest student organizations on campus and is the most visible high school musical ensemble in the community. The ensemble is comprised of students in grades 9-12 and the marching band season takes place from mid-July to mid-November.
Marching Band is an extracurricular activity that meets entirely outside of the school day. Students may earn P.E. credit for their participation. All musicians in Marching Band must be enrolled in one of the school concert bands.
Band camp begins in late July with daily rehearsals. During the school year, Marching Band rehearses three times a week and performs at all home and away varsity football games. The Marching Band also serves the community through its performances at the Christmas in Springboro Parade/Festival in late November and the City of Springboro Memorial Day Parade in late May.
The Springboro High School Marching Band competes in three different circuits: Ohio Music Education Association, Mid-States Band Association, and the Bands of America circuit. The ensemble is consistently a finalist at Mid-States Band Association AAAA Championships and has earned a Superior rating at OMEA State Marching Band Finals the last 24 years.
Winter Guard
Ms. Sam Wilson, Director
The Springboro Winterguard is a competitive performance ensemble who competes on a local and international level.
Each season, a 4-5 minute performance program is carefully selected for each group to produce as members of the Mid-East Performance Association and Winterguard International.
Much like a theatre production, this production features unique prop design, soundtrack, and costuming and features flags, rifles, sabres, and other pieces of equipment that contribute to the effectiveness of the program’s theme.
We encourage all performers to explore the wide variety of past performance videos available online before auditions.
