OMEA District Band Contest

The High School Wind Ensemble and Concert Band will perform at the Ohio Music Education Association District 13 Contest this weekend.

ATTIRE IS BLACK AND WHITE:

Girls can wear either pants or dress/skirts that are floor length. Girls tops with 3/4 or full length sleeves preferred. No patterns, stripes, or polka dots. Guys must wear ties, may have color, but be conservative and long sleeve shirts.

PARENTS PLEASE NOTE:

No video or audio recording allowed during the performance.

If this occurs, our ensembles will be disqualified.

The Wind Ensemble and Concert Band will be performing at different locations and days.

THE ITINERARIES FOR EACH GROUP

WIND ENSEMBLE
- Friday, March 16 - 9:00 p.m. at MIDDLETOWN MADISON HS (Google Map)
  - 7:00 pm - Arrive to Springboro High School
  - 7:15 pm - Bus leaves for Madison High School
  - 9:00 pm - PERFORMANCE TIME
  - 10:30 pm - Approx. arrival home

CONCERT BAND
- Saturday, March 17 - 10:45 a.m. at FAIRFIELD HS (Google Map)
  - 8:30 am - Arrive to Springboro High School
  - 8:45 am - Bus leaves for Fairfield High School
  - 10:45 am - PERFORMANCE TIME
  - 12:30 pm - Approx. arrival home

High School Winter Guard Rehearsal Information

Weekly schedule change:

Rehearsals will me Mondays and Wednesdays only for the remainder of the season. There are no more Friday rehearsals.
On April 11, rehearsal is from 3:00 - 10:00 p.m.
Mrs. Oesterlin is coordinating a carry in dinner. Details will be avaliable soon.

Upcoming Band Performances

The High School Concert Band and Wind Ensemble will share the stage with the 8th Grade Band on Thursday March 8, 2012. The concert begins at 7:00 p.m. in the High School Auditorium!

On Friday and/or Saturday, March 16 & 17, the High School Concert Band and Wind Ensemble will perform at the OMEA District 13 Concert Band Contest. The specific day and time will be posted as soon as we receive the information from the contest host.

Dayton Dragons Concession Stand

Baseball season is just around the corner and once again we will be operating a concession stand at Fifth/Third Field for all 70 Dragon’s home games.

In order to work you MUST attend a training session each year.

These sessions will be:

Wednesday, Feb 22^nd and Tuesday, March 6^th from 6:30 – 8:30 PM in the High School Band room.

You only need to attend one training session. If you can’t make one of these training sessions, training is also available at Fifth/Third field on Friday, 2/24 from 6pm-8pm, Tuesday, 2/28 from 6pm-8pm, and Thursday, 3/8 from 6pm-8pm.

Don’t forget we will need a lot of help April 5-7 for the opening Homestand as many of our veteran parents will be in Florida with the band.
